Collection of personal data

What is personal data?

Personal data is any type of information that can be linked to a living individual, either as a single piece of information or in combination with other data. Examples include:

  • Personal identity numbers, names, addresses, email addresses, and telephone numbers.
  • Images of or audio recordings of an individual may also be defined as personal data when processed by computer systems. Encrypted data as well as electronic identifiers, such as IP addresses and cookies, may also be considered personal data if they can be linked to a natural person.

Which Personal Data do we Collect and Why?

Product Delivery and Services

When you purchase a product from Svenska Skidförbundet Events AB (World Cup Åre), we collect your email address, your first name and surname, your postal code and mobile number via the ticket sales company Tickster. This is necessary for us to be able to identify you as the actual buyer, to send you your ticket and to update you on important event information. You may also receive emails for marketing purposes. Read more about this below.

Newsletters and information

You may sign up for our newsletter (please do!). As you register for our newsletter we request that you give your name and your email address so we can keep in touch.

We may also ask for additional data, such as your postal code, so we can send relevant information to you. We might use your email address to send surveys, offers and competitions to you, with your approval (see more under Approval below).

Service and product development

We may gather personal data so that we get to know our customers and website visitors so that we can develop and adjust our services and products.

Marketing purposes

Personal data may be used for marketing purposes. The content of our emails may be personalised based on your preferences, previous purchases, and the personal data you provided when subscribing to our newsletter or when you purchase our products. You may opt out from our communications at any time by contacting us or by clicking the opt out link in our emails.

Legal Basis

We, Svenska Skidförbundet Events AB, process your personal data in accordance with the laws and regulations described in the first paragraph, Your Personal Data.

Personal data may be processed based on the performance of a contract, consent, or where the processing is necessary to comply with other legal obligations. In most cases, personal data is processed to perform a contract to which you are a party.

This means that even if you withdraw your consent, personal data may still need to be retained and processed for other purposes, for example to enable us to deliver products you have purchased or to comply with legal requirements.

Consent

You have the right to object to receiving marketing and other communications from us at any time. If you wish to opt out, you can do so by following the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us directly.

Legitimate Interest

After purchasing our products, we may contact you to offer similar products, special offers, and relevant information based on your previous purchases. This is done based on our legitimate interest in providing you with relevant recommendations and offers.

Active Consent

When you subscribe to our newsletter, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your registration. This is to reduce the risk of your email address being used for purposes other than those you intended.

Your personal data is stored in our customer database for up to three years after you have ceased being a customer. To withdraw your consent for the storage of personal data, you can unsubscribe from the newsletter (see the most recent email you received from us) or contact us at info@worldcupare.com to revoke your consent.

Storing certain personal data may be necessary for us to fulfil our obligations to you as a customer, or under other applicable laws. This means that personal data may still be retained in the ways described above even if consent has been withdrawn. For example, we need your email address to send your ticket, update you about changes regarding the event, or provide other important information.

Where Personal Data is processed

We use third-party service providers to facilitate the purchase of our products and to send newsletters, marketing materials and other information to your email address. When you purchase one of our products or subscribe to our newsletter, your personal data may be processed by these service providers on our behalf through their IT systems.
